Founded in 1963, Valley of the Temples Memorial Park has served the community by providing a place of peace and serenity for loved ones.

What Makes Valley of the Temples Unique

Valley of the Temples Memorial Park is one of the most unique cemeteries in the world in terms of its location alone, since it is situated on the Windward side of Oahu, surrounded by mountains with an unbeatable ocean view. In addition to this exclusive and spectacular location, Valley of the Temples provides exceptional service to meet a wide range of funeral customs for our clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures. We have been serving the Oahu community for nearly 50 years, and our professional staff always strives to create a personalized, attentive experience for every client. In both pre-planning and short-notice memorial planning, we have a long list of options that can fit into your wishes and budget.

Breathtaking Scenery

Upon touring our memorial park, you will see that Valley of the Temples is one of the most beautiful places to lay a loved one to rest. The natural amphitheater of mountains surrounding the rolling green hills of our grounds overlooks the ocean for stunning views all around. There are many distinctive areas throughout the grounds that are fit for different burial and cremation memorialization choices in one-of-a-kind surroundings.

Extensive Memorial Services

We have worked to provide a long list of memorial services ranging from traditional burial to private family mausoleums, which are among the most exclusive memorial options available. Below is a closer look at our services that can enhance your loved one’s memorial or create a comforting pre-planning experience. As you discuss these choices with our professional staff, you can explore our grief support services to take positive steps in the healing process.

  • Burial Options – There are several areas on our grounds fit for in-ground burial including the Catholic Garden of the Holy Cross and the Garden of Patriotism. Above ground entombment also presents a number of choices to explore in our park.
  • Cemetery Cremation – Preserving cremation remains offers many flexible choices, which may include cemetery cremation with a Haka House, temple niche, or mausoleum niche in the Truesdale Memorial Chapel.
  • Signature Services – Once you have chosen a burial or cremation option, you might explore some of our signature services that truly set us apart. Our butterfly release ceremony, for example, may be a beautiful and environmentally-sound way to signify the passing of the soul of the deceased to join loved ones who have passed before them.

Byodo-In Temple

The Byodo-In Temple at Valley of the Temples is a smaller-scale replica of the 950-year old Japanese temple of the same name. It is a non-practicing Buddhist temple welcoming people of all faiths and offering niches for a distinguished inurnment option. This temple is perhaps the most iconic site within our memorial park at the foot of the Ko’olau Mountains.
