Above-ground entombment is an excellent option for those who do not like the idea of a traditional burial. Mausoleums have been used for millennia as resting place for the deceased and a place of contemplation and visitation for those still living.
A private family mausoleum is a building dedicated to use by a single family, often one that has touched the lives of many others in their community. The mausoleum can be designed with guidance from your family so that it fits your vision and needs. Caskets or cremation urns may be kept inside, allowing each family member to make his own decision regarding his remains after death. Inside the mausoleum, family members can pay their respects to the departed in a quiet, private, and tranquil environment.
Valley of the Temples offers a wide variety of mausoleum choices in our tranquil cemetery on the Windward side of Oahu. Your family’s needs and budget will be taken into consideration as we help you create the perfect memorial that will last for generations. Click through our website or call (808) 239-8811 to speak with one of our experienced and caring staff members today.
Cremation is a process by which the body is reduced to its most basic elements after death. Today, cremation is a popular choice for those wishing to reduce the environmental impact of their death and explore alternatives to a traditional burial. Valley of the Temples Memorial Park offers a variety of cemetery cremation options for your loved one in our tranquil memorial park on the Windward side of Oahu.
Truesdale Memorial Chapel is a Christian chapel located atop the cemetery’s northern Chapel Hill. Its spire can be seen for miles as the chapel overlooks the ocean and Ko’olau mountain range. Inside, the Chapel offers community mausoleum niches where cremated remains may be inured. Families will find a tranquil and comfortable location to visit their loved one and pay respects.
Byodo-In Temple Niche
At the foot of the Ko’olau Mountains sits Valley of the Temples’ Byodo-In Temple. Our temple is a smaller-scale replica of the 950 year-old Byodo-In Temple in Uji, Japan. It was built in 1968 to commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants in Hawaii. Inside the Byodo-In Temple is a glass-front niche room, where niches can hold up to six full-size urns to accommodate families wishing to maintain their closeness, even after life.
The word “haka” means “grave” in Japanese. At Valley of the Temples, our granite haka houses provide private above-ground memorialization of a loved one’s passing. Each haka house may serve as a singular or family grave site on a private plot in one of the Valley’s most scenic locations. Haka houses provide an economical and beautiful option for families who desire a more private location for their loved one.
